FIREBREAK: Due Emme's self-extinguishing material

Due Emme introduces FIREBREAK, a flame-retardant polyamide (nylon) of category V0, ideal for applications that require materials able to ensure high resistance at high temperatures.

What FIREBREAK is

FIREBREAK is a self-extinguishing nylon certified V0 to the UL94 standard, which establishes that a sample, once removed from the flame, must no longer burn or drip. Thanks to these characteristics it is perfect for high-risk environments and for components that must meet international safety standards. Technical sheets and reports are available on request.

FIREBREAK compared with a standard plastic

Compared with a standard plastic material, V0 polyamide:

  • does not burn for more than 10 seconds after being removed from the flame;
  • does not produce dripping of incandescent particles.

Accessories in FIREBREAK

FIREBREAK can be used to produce Due Emme's main thermoplastic accessories — buckles, adjusters, loops, quick-release systems and fixing solutions — whenever the component must resist flame while keeping its function and safety. The same accessory, in its flame retardant version, can therefore meet stricter safety requirements.

Fields of application

Thanks to its characteristics, FIREBREAK is particularly suitable for:

  • Firefighting and fire safety: accessories for firefighters' equipment and personal protective equipment, where flame resistance is an essential requirement;
  • Workwear: garments and accessories intended for high-risk environments — industry, welding, heat exposure — to ensure operator safety.
